Jurgen Klopp says he was thrilled to get the Liverpool job offer and that he went for it straight away.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has compared being approached by Liverpool to meeting his wife for the first time.
Jurgen Klopp enjoyed a fair amount of success during his days at Borussia Dortmund while winning back to back Bundesliga titles among many other accolades.
The German’s final years at Dortmund marked a challenging period for the club and in 2015, he left to join Liverpool.
With Liverpool, Klopp has already won the Champions League. He is also en route to helping the club lift their first Premier League title in 30 years this season.
Recently, the 52-year old revealed that he quickly made up his mind to join Anfield as soon as he got the offer.
“There was a lot of interest but I needed a holiday after I left Dortmund,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“But then I heard from my agent and he said that Liverpool was interested. So I was like, ‘oh God’ like I knew straight away. It was like meeting my wife for the first time when I thought I will marry her. So it felt right from the first moment and I said it that in the first press conference.
“It is a massive honor to manage this club.”
