Jurgen Klopp has fired a warning to Manchester City, insisting his players are more motivated by the prospect of winning a double.
The Reds continue their chase for the title this weekend when they travel to Cardiff on Sunday after City play Spurs on Saturday.
Liverpool booked a date with Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final while Spurs ended the hopes of City’s quadruple after eliminating them in a stunning manner.
Although that means more games for the Merseysiders, Klopp has warned his players are fit and ready in their bid to secure a memorable double.
“We are not tired. It’s a decisive period of the season. That’s good that you are involved in two more competitions,” Klopp said on Friday via the Daily Mail.
“We are still in the Champions League and the title race. We are not tired.
“Training is low intensity because we don’t have to do a lot because the boys know it.
“We have a little session tomorrow and then we go to Cardiff.
“We analyse, work and go for it. We create the basis but there is a moment you have to use it and we are in that.”
It’s mind blowing to think that we’re 2 games away from a consecutive CL final and 4 wins away from possibly winning the PL, without losing at Anfield so far and 1 defeat in 36 games.
And it’s all down to Jurgen Klopp who deserves all the credit from doubters to believers. pic.twitter.com/UXXVzQSovF
