Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign the promising Genoa defender Koray Gunter
Although the Spurs have one of the best centre-back pairs in the Premier League, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen holding down the backline, the London club look to add fresh blood to their defense.
The Belgium internationals are moving towards the latter stages of their careers, as Toby is 29, while Vertonghen already turned 31.
Mauricio Pochettino is already trying to integrate the young Juan Foyth deploying him as a defensive partner with Davinson Sanchez.
However, according to the Turkish website, Fanatik, the Premier League giants are close to completing the transfer of Genoa youngster Koray Gunter for a reported fee of £15 million.
Gunter arrived at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on a free transfer from Galatasaray last summer. The former Borussia Dortmund youth academy product has registered four Serie A starts and added three substitute appearances for the Griffin.
Due to his versatility, the former Germany U-20 international can cover the right flank as well as the role of defensive midfielder.
