Koscielny to remain frozen out

Unai Emery has admitted that Laurent Koscielny will remain frozen out by the club unless he has a change of heart.

Laurent Koscielny is desperate to seek a move away from Arsenal this summer. The veteran defender has been with the club for almost 10 years and is keen on a fresh challenge. And with just a year left on his deal, the Frenchman thought that he might get a freebie.

Based on his loyal service, Koscielny wanted to be free from the last year of his contract so that he could return to France. The France international has already agreed personal terms with Stade Rennais but the Gunners do not want to sell their captain for free.

And after seeing the club not show any flexibility with regards to his transfer fee, Koscielny chose to go on strike and did not show up for preseason training. At present, the defender is training with the club”s Under-23 team and has been frozen out of the first team.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Unai Emery says that he had a discussion with the veteran where it was decided not to keep him with the senior squad.

Report: Emery tells Mustafi and Elneny they can leave

Unai Emery has told Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed Elneny they can leave the club, preferably before September 2nd. According to The Mirror, Emery has told...

“I spoke about him with respect to him. I tried for him to be with us in the pre-season here and to continue working to find a solution between the club, between him and between us.

“When he decided not to stay with us here in the tour, the solution now is only for the club and him because he decided to be out of the team in pre-season.

“I respect him, but we have responsibility, he has his responsibility and the club has their responsibility and I have my responsibility.

“Now it is one issue only for the club and for him. My idea is continuing with the players we are working with and the players that want to be here.”
