Niko Kovac is adamant that everyone at Eintracht Frankfurt is united after they successfully booked their place in the final of the DFB-Pokal cup
The Croatian will lead the side for the final time on the 19 June in the final of the DFB-Pokal cup against his future employers Bayern Munich at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, after Frankfurt sealed a narrow 1-0 win over Schalke at the Veltins-Arena, with a Luka Jovic goal on the 74th minute of the game proving to be the difference between the clubs.
Frankfurt’s director of football Fredi Bobic has been openly critical of Bayern’s handling of the appointment of their head coach for next season, but Kovac insisted that they are still all united and revealed that he will be sharing a drink with the director to celebrate their victory.
“After everything that’s been said in the last few days about us no longer being united, we saw today that we are certainly all united – both on and off the pitch.” said Kovac, according to SportsKeeda.
“Whatever happens, we [Bobic and I] drink a beer or a wine because we’re good friends and not just when we win.”
Bobic agreed: “It was that way before, and it will be that way in the future too,”
“Everything between Niko and I is fine.”
