After his goal against Man United, Kylian Mbappé keeps obliterating records and surpassing milestones, he reached Ronaldo Nazario again.

Kylian Mbappé’s performance last Tuesday against Manchester United wasn’t only shocking in the sense that PSG beat the Red Devils unexpectedly, the French forward also surprised everyone by reaching another milestone that Ronaldo Nazario made during his career.

The Brazilian forward never really had many chances to play the UEFA Champions League throughout his career, there were very few instances in which he could demonstrate his talents as a striker and this was the only competition that he wasn’t fortunate enough to win as a player.

Ever since he started playing professional football in Europe, Ronaldo did not play this competition until he signed for Internazionale Milano.

‘O Fenomeno’ wasn’t part of a squad that competed in the biggest tournament at club level when he played for PSV Eindhoven or FC Barcelona during his first few years in the continent, he had to wait until he played in Italy.

For the Nerazzurri, Ronaldo only played the competition once and didn’t have enough fortune to score many goals because he also suffered that knee injury in the process.

Once he recovered from the surgery and came back stronger after the 2002 World Cup in Brazil, Ronaldo Nazario was supposed to improve Real Madrid in that competition but they were eliminated by Juventus one year after winning their ninth Champions League in history.

The Brazilian’s most memorable night in this tournament was actually pretty special, it happened at Old Trafford after scoring a hat-trick that eliminated Manchester United but he didn’t enjoy more success than that.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo only played sex Champions League seasons, one for Inter and five for Real Madrid. A total of 40 matches and only 14 goals scored in total.

These numbers are quite insignificant when you consider that this legendary Ronaldo we are talking about, he simply wasn’t lucky when it came to playing the Champions League.

Once he finished his career, not playing enough of these games are the only regret he had from an already impressive career and something all of us will regret as well.

Kylian Mbappé has been constantly compared to Brazilian Ronaldo for their many similarities, but this is another one in which the French player has surpassed ‘O Fenomeno’.

Bayern Munich president ‘advises’ Jerome Boateng to leave

President Uli Hoeness believes Jerome Boateng's time at Bayern Munich is finished and urged him to seek out a "new challenge".

Mbappé is honestly living a love story with the Champions League, he is even scoring goals at a faster pace than Cristiano or Messi and we really think that he could get to the numbers they have faster than they did.

Last night’s display granted Mbappé his 14th career goal in this competition, the same as Ronaldo Nazario.

The difference is that Kylian needed 16 fewer matches to get there and he is only 20 years old, there is no denying the obvious now about the PSG star.

Mbappé is the prototype of player for the future, he has everything to become even greater than Messi or Ronaldo combined and he simply keeps proving it day after day.

Yesterday against Manchester United, it didn’t matter if he was 20 years old or if he still hadn’t played at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’, Kylian was destined to deliver results in the biggest matches and there was nothing anybody could do to stop him.

Neymar and Cavani were watching from the comfort of their homes, they know that the club is in good hands even if they are not around to save the day.
