Real Madrid are the 2020 La Liga winners

A 2-1 victory over Villarreal secured the 34th La Liga crown for Real Madrid last Wednesday.

Both goals were courtesy of Karim Benzema, who extended his goal tally to 21 for the 2019-20 campaign.

The Whites won the Spanish Championship for only the third time in the past 10 years, but it is Zinedine Zidane’s second time to beat Barcelona in the title race as manager at Santiago Bernabeu.

Barcelona to have their worst season since 2007-08

Ten men Osasuna stunned Barcelona at the Camp Nou Stadium, taking home the three points thanks to a 94th-minute winner from Roberto Torres.

The Catalans have 79 points on their account and have to option to ear three more in the last round of the 2019-20 campaign.

Even if Barcelona win and finish with 82, the Messi and Co. would still have their worst campaign since 2007-08, when they finished in third, 18 points behind champions Real Madrid.

Mallorca is officially relegated to the Segunda Division

Granada was ruthless on their visit to Palma de Mallorca, earning a 2-1 victory that relegated the hosts from the Spanish top division.

The Vermilions started off well, getting 1-0 in front through Chucho in the 20th minute, but Diaz and Fernandez sealed the three points for the visitors in the remainder of the encounter.

Mallorca is now four points behind Celta Vigo and it is impossible for them get out of the red zone in the final gameweek of the season.
