Alexandre Lacazette says Arsenal cannot rely on Manchester City’s ban and will have to keep fighting for a top-four finish.
After confirming that they had violated the Financial Fair Play rulings, following a lengthy investigation, UEFA slapped a ban on Manchester City, preventing them to take part in European competitions for the next two seasons.
As a result, if or rather when Man City finish inside the top-four, the fifth place holder will get a Champions League qualification.
But Alexandre Lacazette does not want his side to pin their hopes on City’s failure altogether. Instead, the number insists the Gunners must keep fighting to get higher up on the Premier League table.
As per Daily Mail, he said: “I think it is early to talk because they can do an appeal and often it happens in football that, what do they say, it gets canceled.
“So us, we just focus on ourselves and we just play our football. Even without this, we just want to win for the team and fans. And to be as high as possible.”
