Petr Cech gave his insights on the hype revolving Frank Lampard and his possible move back to Chelsea as manager.
It’s sure raining cats and dogs at Chelsea. The Premier League club recently showed interest in bringing former Chelsea superstar Frank Lampard back as manager. And of course, everyone applauded the move.
But, everything seems to be far from over, with former goalkeeper Petr Cech sharing some more details on the applications.
Cech, who served his ripest years in Chelsea, notes the club is discussing several options, one of which is Lampard. Moreover, Cech currently serves as Chelsea’s technical and performance advisor, which gives him a huge role in finding a descendant for Sarri.
“The club has identified several candidates, the situation is open,” Cech noted.
“Frank is one of them. Before the first team begins preparations we want to solve the issue of the new manager.”
“The most important thing is to choose a new manager, it will be crucial in the context of further work,” he continued.
“The coach will have ideas for the team, we will be completing the team for next season. He will have to look at the players and decide who will go to Japan.”
Both Cech and Lampard played together with at Chelsea for almost 10 years, winning titles in the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, and the FA Cup.
Aside from Cech, another former Chelsea player, Claude Makelele, showed his confidence in Lampard as well.
“At the moment, nothing is decided. For me, it’s good the ex-legends come back to the club. I hope so,” Makelele explained, as per Marca.
“I’m sure he wants to give everything for Chelsea. So, of course, I’m happy about this idea of the club to bring back a legend. He’s ready. He knows what is needed to bring success to the club.”
“Frank is someone who is very professional, he focuses on details, focuses on the love he gives for Chelsea. I’m sure he will be a great manager for Chelsea,” he shared.
