Frank Lampard was angry with his team after Chelsea shockingly lost to Newcastle last night with the Magpies scoring the last-minute winner that sent the Blues’ efforts down the drain.

Lampard had a couple of things to say to his players after the defeat.

He called for everyone to take more responsibility, highlighting Abraham’s performances as a positive.

“We can’t absolutely rely on Tammy Abraham,” Lampard said, quoting Sports Max.

“We have to have goals from across the frontline if we want to bridge the gap upwards. Tammy has been fantastic this season – it didn’t quite come off for him today but that’s football.

“I can’t complain about anything from the team really. Of course we don’t want to give headers away in our box, they’re big and that happens but other than that, we gave everything we could to try to win the game.”

It was a tough blow for Chelsea as they need all the points they can get.

However, relief comes from the fact that Manchester United are facing Liverpool today, and it’s unlikely that the Red Devils can close the gap.
