Lampard not completely satisfied with Chelsea’s progress

Frank Lampard says Chelsea dropped way too many points which could’ve helped them strengthen their position.

Frank Lampard‘s debut season as the Chelsea manager is turning out to be better than expected.

The Blues lost their best player in Eden Hazard after he completed a switch to Real Madrid last summer. Furthermore, they were also prohibited to make additions after being hit by the transfer ban.

As a result, Lampard was forced to rely on his youth players. And the former Derby boss has done an excellent job so far.

Chelsea sit on the fourth place and, as it stands, look to be guaranteed a place in the next year’s Champions League.

And Frank Lampard says he is happy with how Chelsea’s campaign is turning out to be.

“There was a lot of self-reflection [during the break]. And just having some time away, having a bit of clarity, I think we should be happy that we’re in the fourth position. I think that would have been a plus at the start of the season,” Lampard said as per Four Four Two.

“At the same time how can we get that extra 10 or 15% which I think we’ve been lacking? We would have had a lot more points on the board [if we did] and made fourth look a lot more comfortable.”
