Frank Lampard has revealed that Ngolo Kante suffered from a hamstring injury before Chelsea’s match against Burnley.
Frank Lampard insisted that Ngolo Kante was set to feature in Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Burnley but was failed to make the team in the final minutes after feeling problems in his hamstring.
Ngolo Kante’s season has been riddled with injuries. The midfielder suffered an ankle injury which has kept him out of the Chelsea squad. So far, the Frenchman has made 14 appearances in the league.
Frank Lampard revealed that Kante was on his way to make his return to the team. But, as a precautionary measure, he stayed back after feeling unwell and was replaced by Ross Barkley.
“He’s reported some feeling in his hamstring yesterday after training,’ Lampard told as per Metro.
“We have him overnight to see how it was, it wasn’t good enough this morning so not good enough to play. Though these things always give an opportunity you don’t want them because we’re missing good players.
“N’Golo… everyone knows how important he is for us. But not worth the risk in any way but opens the door for Ross Barkley at this point to come in and play.”
