Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed concern with the potential arrival of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona and PSG are considered the most likely destination for the Atleti forward who confirmed he would leave the Rojiblancos at the end of the season.
However, Laporta has indicated that the Frenchman is overpriced and the club’s supporters do not approve of his move to Barcelona.
“I think that most of the fans don’t want him and also, because of his price tag, which I think is exaggerated,” said Laporta via Marca.
“I think there are other players with a great impact that could perfectly do what Griezmann can do at Barcelona.
“If he comes we, all the Catalans will be the first to encourage him, as has happened with all the players who have come.”
A few days ago, Laporta claimed that he is willing to run to once again become Barcelona president, with elections provisionally scheduled for 2021.
Arsenal’s Alexander Lacazette has been linked to the club as the likely replacement for the French forward in a deal that may gulp £70m.
