Laporta: The price tag of Griezmann may scupper Barca move

Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed concern with the potential arrival of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona and PSG are considered the most likely destination for the Atleti forward who confirmed he would leave the Rojiblancos at the end of the season.

However, Laporta has indicated that the Frenchman is overpriced and the club’s supporters do not approve of his move to Barcelona.

“I think that most of the fans don’t want him and also, because of his price tag, which I think is exaggerated,” said Laporta via Marca.

Opinion: Atletico fans should be grateful to Griezmann

Now that his life has changed as a Barcelona player, Atletico Madrid fans should be nothing but grateful to Antoine Griezmann. Atletico Madrid's history has...

“I think there are other players with a great impact that could perfectly do what Griezmann can do at Barcelona.

“If he comes we, all the Catalans will be the first to encourage him, as has happened with all the players who have come.”
