Speaking to the clubs official website, mancity.com Guardiola confirmed he has started back training. The Spaniard expects the player back in the thick of things next week.
“Yesterday was the first time he trained, for 10 or 15 minutes, again today.”
“He’s getting better, he feels good.”
“I think in the next week he’ll complete all the training sessions with us.”
The City boss will then try to introduce him slowly back into competitive action.
“It [A return to action] will be dictated by how he feels, it’s more than four months out.”
“He won’t be able to play 90 minutes straight away, it’s a process.”
Many consider the loss of Laporte at center-back a key cause of City’s drastic drop in form and current league situation.
