Lautaro Martinez was perhaps the only bright spot in Inter’s defeat to Barcelona last night which saw Nerazzuri fall out of the Champions League.
It’s not a secret that Barcelona is looking for Luis Suarez’s long-term replacement.
After some great performances in Copa America this summer, Lautaro Martinez drew Barca’s attention.
The striker went on to have a world-class season with Antonio Conte at Inter.
This solidified his status as the number one wish for Blaugrana next summer.
And when Barca beat Inter last night, the Argentinian officially passed the test with a great performance.
Many of Barcelona’s players approached Lautaro to console him after his team fell out of the competition.
Now, another stone has been turned in the story.
Inter’s CEO, Beppe Marotta, confirmed that the striker might leave the club.
“If Lautaro wants to leave we will evaluate the situation,” he told Sports Mediaset, quoting Football Espana.
Barca fans rejoice, but there’s a long way to go in order to secure Martinez’s signature.
