Lazio was left stunned as Scottish champions Celtic snatch a dramatic 95th-minute winner.
Celtic were looking for a first victory on Italian soil and a spot n the last 32 of the Europa League.
The visitors fell behind to a 7th-minute goal from in-form Lazio forward Ciro Immobile.
Immobile was totally unmarked at the back post, and the Italian made no mistake volleying home.
While Lazio made the most of the home-field advantage and dominated possession.
Celtic hung in though and their efforts were rewarded before the break, with a 38th-minute goal from James Forrest.
Half time: Lazio 1 – 1 Celtic.
The second half saw both sides go for the win.
It appeared that a stalemate was the order of the day, as shots blocked and missed attempts were exchanged.
But Celtic who had defended stoutly were determined.
As the injury time ticked on and the match entered its penultimate minute.
Odsonne Edouard played a well-timed pass to Olivier Ntcham. The substitute made no mistake in stunning the Lazio crowd.
Final Score: Lazio 1 – 2 Celtic.
The victory guarantees Neil Lennon’s side a spot in the knock out stages of the Europa League, as well as the historic first in Italy.
