Ciro Immobile is an integral part of Lazio’s future plans and will remain a central figure in the team for the next few years, suggests Igli Tare.
Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has forged his status as one of the deadliest finishers in Europe as he continues to enjoy a sensational 2019/20 season.
With 35 goals in 36 games, Immobile is on track to beat Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo as this season’s Serie A top scorer.
The 30-year old’s exploits have helped his side secure a top-four finish and make a return to the Champions League after a long time.
Heaping praise on him, director Igli Tare says he wants Immobile to be the focal point of the team in the coming years.
“We will build Lazio around Immobile because he has a long contract and is an important figure in this club. He’s had an exceptional season, but the team played for and with him too,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.
“Lazio are in the Champions League after 13 years. Now we are studying initiatives to bring the club even higher with Immobile a key figure.”
