Leaked footage from PES 2021 has seemingly confirmed that Willian’s switch from Chelsea to Arsenal is done and dusted.
Chelsea’s refusal to offer Willian a three-year contract extension has left him on the brink of a summer exit, with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham interested.
The Brazilian, who has already put pen-to-paper on a month-extension to see out the rest of the season, has made it no secret he would remain a Blue if the club agreed to his demands.
Despite Frank Lampard’s insistence, however, the Chelsea board refuses to play ball. Therefore, it’s almost inevitable that Willian will leave as a free agent.
Although it appears this saga was wrapped up a little earlier than we were led to believe.
Shocking footage has since emerged, clearly showing Willian in an Arsenal jersey in a seven-second clip from PES 2021.
The leaked screenshots, courtesy of The Sun, shows the 31-year-old walking out onto the pitch at the Emirates Stadium in Arsenal’s new home jersey for next season. The player’s name and the caption ‘new signing’ were included.
Of course, The Sun has always been a dubious source at best for transfer rumors.
The leaked footage does, though, come just as Arsenal released a video themselves on Tuesday giving fans a glimpse into PES 2021. They’ve also collaborated with the video game series.
So perhaps Konami has inside information on this one? It’s a pretty bold move putting Willian in the Arsenal set-up already.
