According to Lecce coach Fabio Liverani, the 4-0 loss against Inter Milan was not a surprise as they know the Nerazzurri are a club with quality players.
Lecce coach Fabio Liverani said his team showed no fear tonight against Internazionale Milan.
But the manager knows the 4-0 defeat against the Nerazzurri was not a surprise.
“Inter has players of such individual quality that they make the difference and we should’ve understood the style of football to approach them better,” Liverani was quoted by Football Italia.
“We conceded right when we were moving the ball well.”
He commented: “We’ve got to remember the objective is 40 points this season and we can pick them up anywhere.”
“I leave this game with more conviction, as we already knew that there was work to be done.”
“At this level, any distraction is difficult to recover from,” he added.
“Inter were brimming with confidence and we played with character too.”
“It’s going to be a battle to the final round, we know that already, and there are still new players settling in,” he commented.
“The important thing tonight was the mentality and my lads proved they were not afraid of this stadium.”
🗣 questo il commento a fine gara del tecnico Fabio #Liverani “il nostro obiettivo è la salvezza. Dobbiamo avere nella testa i 40 punti, e possiamo farli ovunque. Oggi è andata cosi…”
