Leicester City hosted Arsenal in their latest outing in the Premier League.
Score: Leicester City 2-0 Arsenal
Goalscorers: Vardy, Maddison
The Foxes put on a brilliant display at home against Arsenal. Unai Emery’s men suffered yet another defeat to move to the sixth position in the Premier League.
Unai Emery made three changes to his side. Bellerin, Holding, and Kolasinac came in the place of Sokratis, Tierney, and Ceballos.
Just before the quarter of an hour, Alexander Lacazette missed an opportunity to put Arsenal in the lead. Bellerin’s cross caused havoc inside the Leicester City box before finally reaching Lacazette. The French forward then curled his shot wide, missing the goal.
After half an hour, Vardy’s shot was brilliantly blocked by Chambers to deny Leicester the lead. Chambers slid in the path of Vardy to avoid him from tapping in from close range.
Leicester City players called for penalty after Guendouzi put Soyuncu down. But the VAR dismissed any claims and denied the decision.
Arsenal scored through Aubameyang at the 56th minute only to see the goal being ruled out. Kolasinac’s pass to the Gabonese was made in an offside position. Hence, both the referee and the VAR denied the goal.
Jamie Vardy has now scored as many Premier League goals (91) as Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Finally, the Foxes got their much-deserved lead by a great combination play. Youri Tielemans laid the ball to Vardy who then drilled it past Leno to make it 1-0 for Leicester City.
James Maddison doubled his side’s lead fifteen minutes before the final whistle. This time, Vardy was the one to make the assist. Maddison’s shot went through Bellerin’s legs into the bottom corner to get an advantage against Arsenal.
Leicester City are sitting at the second position following the home win against the Gunners.
