Barcelona take on Napoli in the Champions League and Clement Lenglet believes they have a tough encounter on their hands.
Portugal hosts the knockout rounds of UEFA European competitions, which makes up for an exciting round of fixtures. However, before teams make it to Portugal they have to negotiate their second leg fixtures.
Barcelona are in a similar quandary. They drew 1-1 at San Paolo and welcome Napoli to the Camp Nou for the return fixture. A 0-0 draw will take them to Portugal but it is easier said than done.
Napoli have been revitalized by Gennaro Gattuso and Clement Lenglet wants the Catalans on their best against them.
Similar to Lionel Messi, Langlet is warry of the Patenopei players and wants Barcelona to be focused on the task ahead.
“It’s about advancing against Napoli, who are a tough team,” Lenglet told Barcelona’s official website.
“In the first leg we drew 1-1 and it’s only a small advantage [with the away goal], but I really think that we will play a great game in Barcelona to reach the next round and get a good result that will allow us to travel to Lisbon.
“The first thing we have to do is be extremely focused, perform well and try to win to get into the last eight in Lisbon.
“Then we will have to compete 100 percent to get as far as possible in the competition.”
Langlet also singled out Napoli’s attacking prowess and hailed Dries Mertens for his impact.
“He’s [Mertens] very fast in the first three metres, can move around well and likes to run behind defenders and is lethal near goal,” Lenglet said.
“He scored a good goal in the first leg.”
