The Italian manager has really turned things around following a tough 2018 campaign for the national team according to Leonardo Bonucci.

While speaking to media ahead of the Euro 2020 qualification game against Bosnia, Leonardo Bonucci heaped praise over Roberto Mancini. The former Manchester City manager has turned things around for the Azzurri.

As things stand, Italy have registered four consecutive wins and six clean sheets. Moreover, the national team hasn’t conceded a single goal in the last eight months. And this is something that has really impressed Leonardo Bonucci who feels that Mancini came with an idea and gave a chance to the younger players.

“What’s changed, above all, is our coach,” Bonucci said at a Press conference reported by Calciomercato.

“He came in with a very precise idea, which has gone on to spread throughout Italian football.

“Many young players have managed to impose themselves, each giving their own contributions.”

And the game against Bosnia is going to be an exciting affair. In that game, Leonardo Bonucci would come up against Juventus teammate, Miralem Pjanic. The Italian feels that Bosnia will be a difficult proposition.

“Bosnia deserve great respect, beyond their result in Finland, and like Greece can cause us problems,” warned the 32-year-old.

“They have great players, like Dzeko and Pjanic, who are forward-thinking. Miralem will return for them tomorrow and he makes them tick.

“He does that for Juventus, as well as the national team. He’s crucial for them and Bosnia won’t play like they did against Finland.”

A lot of onus would be on the Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini pairing in defense. The duo is keen not to concede any goals. And Bonucci enjoys playing with Chiellini.

“What interests Chiellini and I is not conceding. We’re able to create chances and it makes us happy when we take them.

“Giorgio and I have a relationship of friendship and esteem, on and off the field, and we’ll keep going until the end of both our careers.

“Our objective is to make players understand what it means to be in a team like the national team.

“A great group has been recreated and the young players are doing their work to the fullest.
