Leroy Sane was delighted with himself after scoring the first free-kick of his career in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in the Champions League
The German winger scored twice at the Etihad Stadium to enable City to finish their Group F campaign with a win after Andrej Kramaric’s 16th-minute penalty had given Hoffenheim the lead.
But Sane’s blistering free-kick from 25-yards out, in the dying moments of the first-half, was what captured everyone’s interest.
The 22-year-old now revealed that the secret behind it was a lot of practice and a bit of luck.
“I practice a lot in training,” Sane told the club website.
Amazing comeback by Guardiola’s City
“We had some good moments, we made life hard for ourselves but it was a really good game.
“I was thinking of whether to shoot or not from the free-kick, it was quite a distance. It was quite lucky.”
The City star then sealed the win by claiming his eighth goal of the season after finishing off a swift counter-attack.
