Robert Lewandowski insists the only thing that counts is victory after Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win over AEK Athens on Wednesday

The Polish striker struck twice to hand Bayern a key Champions League
win against their Greek opponents.

The result moved Bayern two points clear at the top of Group E from Ajax.

While manager Niko Kovac felt another two or three goals were possible, Lewandowski was satisfied anyway.

“Yes, we knew it wouldn’t be an easy game, and we just needed to go for the win,” Lewandowski told UEFA.com.

“It wasn’t a matter of trying to play very attacking football and scoring many goals, but just getting the victory.

“We want to bring our form to a higher level – that’s our goal and it’s clear that you can’t completely change that from one game to the next.
