Robert Lewandowski wasn’t satisfied with what he saw from Bayern Munich’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday

The Polish striker scored twice in Amsterdam as Bayern emerged Group E winners from an absorbing encounter with runners-up Ajax.

However, Bayern did twice surrender their lead to Ajax with Nicolas Tagliafico’s 95th-minute equaliser ensuring the Dutch side would not leave empty-handed.

“It was a very open match. Fortunately, we sealed the group victory. Our positional play wasn’t so good,” Lewandowski told the club website.

Kovac says Bayern is prepared for DFB-Pokal Semifinal

Bayern Munich is set to play against Werder Bremen tomorrow night with the only objective of qualifying to the DFB-Pokal Final.

“It wasn’t a great display, and we must continue to work hard. We didn’t have a lot of possession.

“We created many chances and scored three goals, but we also conceded goals at the back.

“That happens. We can do better, we have higher potential. But we have to look at the bad things to improve.”

Lewandowski and Ajax’s Dusan Tadic, who also found the net twice on Wednesday, are the Champions League’s leading scorers on eight goals.
