Victor Lindelof has revealed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s strategy that helped them against Man City.

The Manchester derby turned out in favor of the red side of the city. Manchester United players, especially the whole of the defensive line, did a brilliant job in keeping Man City out of their box.

As reported by Mirror, Victor Lindelof confirmed that Solskjaer specified the players to play from the back. The Swede revealed that he tried to build the play by reaching out to his teammates on the front line.

“Yeah,” Lindelof replied when asked whether he was instructed to play from the back.

Obviously we want to play from the back and we tried it a few times today, with some various results.

“We need to be brave and try to play and that starts from the back with me, David [De Gea] and Harry [Maguire.]

“So I’m just trying to do myself from the back and try to build it up from the back and give the ball to the front players because those are the ones that should have the ball and those are the ones that can create chances for us.”

“I think as a unit today we defended very, very well all over the pitch. So I want to say well done to all my teammates.
