Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard revealed he enjoys watching Ronaldinho and Andres Iniesta on YouTube in his spare time

The 25-year-old has been compared to Iniesta in the past by former United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen.

The Dutchman stated that Lingard is practically an “English version” of the Barcelona great due to their smart runs and ball plays.

Now Lingard himself has revealed he sometimes turns to video clips of Iniesta and Ronaldinho in action for inspiration.

The United star met Ronaldinho in the summer and received a few pointers from the Brazilian great.

“Football videos and things like that, music videos as well,” Lingard told Inside United on what he watches on YouTube.

“They are the main things I watch on there. Clips of Ronaldinho, clips of Iniesta, I love things like that.”

Opinion: Signing Gareth Bale would be a big risk for Manchester United

Here is our opinion on Gareth Bale's potential transfer to Manchester United, as the Welshman is linked with a Premier League return this summer.

The England international also follows other sporting icons outside of football.

“I think there are good people around me at the moment and, obviously, there are people in different sports that I look up to,” he added.

“LeBron James is doing well with the Lakers.”

On his reading activities, Lingard jokingly said: “I’m not really a book person, to be honest,”

“Marcus [Rashford] is trying to get me into some, though. He reads books. I can’t remember what they are called, stuff about psychology.

“Might be an interesting read!”

Lingard scored in both of England’s internationals over the past week and has now returned to United.
