Lionel Messi has rubbished concerns over his relationship with Antoine Griezmann by insisting he has no problems with his new Barcelona team-mate.
Messi and Griezmann started alongside each other for the second time since the latter’s €120m arrival from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday to help Barcelona defeat Inter Milan 2-1 in the Champions League.
Despite Lautaro Martinez’s second-minute opener for Inter, the Catalan giants bounced back through Luis Suarez’s brace to take all three points.
And Messi, who brilliantly set-up Suarez’s second goal, later spoke on relationship with Griezmann at Camp Nou.
Lately, there have been reports in the Spanish press claiming he wasn’t happy with Barcelona’s decision to sign Griezmann instead of pursuing Neymar.
Fueling the talk was Griezmann’s confession on Tuesday that he’s yet to strike up a connection with Messi. However, the Frenchman did play it down by claiming the Barcelona star’s injury problems have been the main cause for this.
But Messi insists that things are good.
“We have no problem with Griezmann,” the Argentine told reporters.
“Little little by little our relationship is growing.
“The relationship of the whole wardrobe is very good.”
Messi also spoke on the club’s recent internal crisis, and revealed that he was pleased to complete his first 90-minute match of the season.
Barcelona will return to Champions League action away to Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic on October 23.
Meanwhile, Ernesto Valverde’s men will next play host to Sevilla at Camp Nou on Sunday in La Liga.
Following a difficult start to the season, the Blaugrana will be out to make it four wins in a row across all competitions with La Liga leaders Real Madrid just two points ahead.
