Having watched Argentine international star Lionel Messi perform wonders during matches and with an important assistance from Luis Suarez, Barca centre-back Gerard Pique maintains both are the best attackers.

Barcelona wiped out Levante on Sunday night with 5-0 where Messi shined with a hat trick to give Barcelona lead.

“Luis and Leo are the best couple of attackers of recent years,” Pique said to reporters after the match via Marca.

“It’s true that Luis has goals in his blood and Leo just does everything.”

“The match was very good, we are playing better in the last few games, conceding fewer goals and that’s positive,” he continued.

Valverde says Barcelona has to be careful

The Blaugrana boss believes that danger is still around the corner for his team in the Spanish La Liga tournament, as there are ten matches left on the calendar.

“Now we will try to win against Celtic in the next match and have a good Christmas.”

“I struggled at the start, as always, but I’m eager to continue enjoying this generation of footballers,” Pique added.

“Semedo’s injury was breaking news but I had some minor discomfort on Saturday, so without a pure right-back, we decided to play like that”.

“Sometimes it doesn’t work and can be uncomfortable, but despite not being the usual defensive set up, things went well.”
