According to Reds’ footballer Virgil van Dijk, his team has to win their next three Premier League matches if they want to become champions.

Liverpool is currently in the first position of the English Premier League table with 88 points. The Reds have three matches left to play, as they are two points ahead of second-place Manchester City.

And if the Reds want to win the title, they will need to win their next three matches to have their faith on their own hands: they still need to play against Championship-bound Huddersfield Town, 13th-place Newcastle United, and 10th-place Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This is why Virgil van Dijk believes his team has to be perfect.

“We have three games left and we are going to try and win all of them. It’s going to be very hard, but that’s what we’re looking to do,” he told Four Four Two.

“We did our job (at Cardiff). We had to stay patient, but it was a very mature performance and it was good to get the three points. Our next challenge is going to be on Friday, so we’ll see.”

“They need to do themselves a favor,” Van Dijk said when asked if Manchester United could help out his team.

“Everton is not easy to beat at home, but 4-0 is a big result.”

He commented: “We have no influence on that, but they are still playing for Champions League football and they need to get a result.”
