According to reports, Liverpool have set a price tag on Dejan Lovren as the Reds look to end the Croatian’s nightmarish stint at Anfield.

The Press Association Sports claims that Dejan Lovren could be set for a departure from Liverpool this summer. The Croatian international has fallen down the pecking order ever since Jurgen Klopp arrived.

Throughout the last campaign, Dejan Lovren was used rarely by the German tactician. And even though Liverpool haven’t considered selling the former Lyon man, they might do so. Dejan Lovren hasn’t been able to replicate the form that made him one of the best defenders in England while at Southampton.

Devoid of confidence and support, the Croatian international has often cut a frustrated figure. Even then, Liverpool would want to get as much money out of a transfer as they can. It has been claimed that the player will not be sold for anything less than € 25 million.

AC Milan are rumoured to be huge admirers of Lovren. However, the Rossoneri haven’t established contact with Liverpool yet. That could also change. Ricky Massara is expected to become the club’s new sporting director. The first order of his rein would be to select a suitable head coach.

Marco Giampaolo of Sampdoria is believed to be in line. Once that happens, the club will officially approach Liverpool for Dejan Lovren.

While Liverpool aren’t desperate to sell the player, Dejan Lovren may have other ideas. The Croat was the club’s fourth choice defender last season. He was expected to pair up with Virgil Van Dijk at the start of last season. However, an injury changed things. Joel Matip improved in Lovren’s absence and then became a regular fixture.

Since signing from Southampton five years ago, Dejan Lovren has always struggled to win over the fans. Last season, he made only 14 starts which was a clear indication of the fact that future lies away from Merseyside.
