Andy Lonergan has been signed by Liverpool after it was revealed Alisson Becker may be out for several weeks.
As we brought you here at Ronaldo.com earlier today. There were concerns over Alisson Beckers injury, its severity and how long he would be out for.
While it is not the worst-case scenario, it is not good.
Goal.com has confirmed, given that it will be at least a couple of weeks but up to eight weeks. Liverpool has opted to sign another goalkeeper.
Liverpool has agreed on a one-year deal for veteran goalkeeper Andy Lonergan. He was most recently with Middlesborough but was currently without a club.
The keeper has recently worked with Liverpool’s goalkeeping team. But not officially a registered player.

Alisson was attempting a goal kick in Friday nights season opener against Norwich. He appeared to slip and injure his calf.
Spanish goalkeeper Adrian. He was also acquired on a free transfer, stepped into the breach.
The former West Ham man, was the first choice back up, as academy shot-stopper, Caoimhin Kelleher is also not fit.
After the match Klopp said of the injury:
“It doesn’t look too good”
Liverpool has the European Super Cup on Wednesday in Istanbul. Adrain is expected to start, with Lonergan on the bench.
On Liverpoolfc.com Klopp said of the goalkeeper’s situation:
“It’s not too cool.”
“It’s a calf injury which takes him obviously out for a while.”
“I don’t want to make now an exact prognosis on when he will be back.”
“But it will not tomorrow for sure, so now then we have to see.”
“It takes a while, it takes a couple of weeks for sure, and we have to see.”
“I saw already like ‘six weeks’ and stuff like this.”
“Ali was not a lot injured in his career so I would like to wait a little bit to see how he develops”
“He is not in for the next few weeks.”
