Sadio Mane is set to receive a mega contract offer from Liverpool that could see him end his career at Anfield and snub interest from Real Madrid.
Sadio Mane has grown to be one of the most important players for Liverpool since he joined back in 2016.
Since joining the Reds, the Senegalese has been an important piece in the driving force that has seen Liverpool dominate Europe and challenge domestically as well.
Mane turned 28 last month and his brilliant performances have seen Spanish giants Real Madrid set their sights on the forward.
It was strongly believed Los Blancos would make a move for the 28-year-old but Liverpool are plotting a move to counter that.
As per Football Insider, the Reds are aware of Real Madrid’s interest in Mane and would attempt to offer interest by offering him a mega contract offer.
His current deal, signed in November 2018, runs until the summer of 2023.
There is no need to extend but Liverpool are not ready to take any chances on a player who is largely influential in their squad.
Mane would be 31 by the end of his current contract and could receive an extension offer that could see him finish his career at Anfield.
Since Mane joined Liverpool, he has scored 77 goals and supplied 34 assists in 161 appearances for the club.
On an individual level, he won the joint golden boot award last season and came close to winning the Ballon d’Or, in fourth place.
If this does happen, it could be a blow for Zinedine Zidane who was looking to sign yet another ‘galactico’ player to add to his squad.
It’s not surprising when you consider Mane has once indicated his desire to finish his career at Anfield.
