Julen Lopetegui has piled praise onto Wolves ahead of the upcoming Europa League quarter-final match against the Premier League side.
Sevilla secured a comfortable 2-0 win over AS Roma last week in the one-legged Round of 16 Europa League tie.
They are now set to face Wolves, who scraped past Olympiacos with a narrow 1-0 victory.
Julen Lopetegui’s men are favorites to advance to the next round given their rich history in the competition. However, overcoming their opponents will still not be an easy task, for Wolves are flying high with Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm.
Sevilla have the benefit of experience, having tasted success in Europe’s second-best club competition for a record five teams. But Lopetegui knows that his side’s past results will account for little on Tuesday night.
“You can’t live in the past. The present is Wolves and they are a team that arrives with enthusiasm and confidence,” the former Real Madrid boss told in his pre-match press conference, via Marca.
“As always, we’re facing a rival that will force us to be at our best. We’re focused on ourselves and how we can play to our limits.
“Wolves are a team that has drawn with Tottenham and play a good style.”
