Lorenzo Insigne is not happy to see his former manager join Juventus, stating that Maurizio Sarri has betrayed the club.
Lorenzo Insigne says that Maurizio Sarri betrayed the club by choosing to join archrivals Juventus from Chelsea this summer.
Following a one-year stay in England at Chelsea, Sarri decided that the offer from Juventus was too hard to turn down. Without considering the implications of his decision, the former Napoli coach joined the reigning Italian champions.
And Lorenzo Insigne is among many Neopolitans who are angry with the coach for swapping a rival with whom he had so much history.
Sari managed Napoli for three years and in every season, guided them to a top three place. However, the club always seemed to fall short when it came to winning the Scudetto.
And Lorenzo Insigne, a true Napoli man, says that Sarri’s betrayal is always going to be remembered by those living in Naples.
“And it will be forever. Now we have to focus on ourselves and try to beat him at all costs. Now that he’s gone to Juve, I don’t want to talk about him anymore,” he stated according to Goal.com
“The Scudetto is a dream for all of us and we will try once more.”
And while Lorenzo Insigne has seen his future being questioned, the Italian says that he is happy at the club and wants to retire here.
“No, I never thought of leaving Napoli. I’m still young, I’m happy in Naples and want to stay here for the rest of my career.”
Reflecting on his favourite moment, Lorenzo Insigne spoke about the goal he scored against Real Madrid during the second round of the Champions League in 2017.
“Scoring that goal against Real Madrid gave me such strong sensations and I hope other young Neapolitan lads can feel the same way in future.
“It is the dream of all Neapolitan boys and I am very proud to be in this position.”
