Lucas Moura has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for August following his stand-out displays at Tottenham

The Brazilian winger enjoyed his finest spell at Spurs last month following his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Moura scored his first league goal in Spurs’ 3-1 win over Fulham and then produced a man-of-the-match performance by netting a brace in the club’s shocking 3-0 win away to Manchester United.

Now Moura becomes the 22nd Spurs player to win the Premier League Player of the Month and the fourth Brazilian to do so.

“It is difficult to explain what I am feeling,” said Moura on the Premier League website.

“I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy.
