Barcelona striker Luis Suarez confessed that he is floored by Ousmane Dembele’s incredible speed, the fastest player he ever played with.

For a world-class player such as Luis Suarez to say something so intimate about one of his teammates is very difficult, Ousmane Dembele made an unforgettable impression in a foootballer who is used to play amongst some of the best players in modern football history.

The impact that the French winger has on FC Barcelona players is something that needed to be explained from a closer perspective, there was no one better than Luis Suarez himself to let us know just how talented the youngster really is.

Because Dembele has already been considered one of the most talented young players in the world, by none other than Kylian Mbappé when they shared time in the French National Team.

Luis Suarez spoke about his unique ability to always get to a long pass regardless of how much distance he needs to cover, but Suarez also revealed some very interesting information about the way he’s been getting involved in the player’s upbringing inside the club.

It’s no secret that Ousmane Dembele has been caught on several disciplinary problems with the club, issues for which he’s had to respond accordingly.

But these problems that Dembele had this season for Barcelona are a stage that any talented football player goes through when he is young, Luis Suarez himself felt a deep connection with the situation Dembele is going through and helping the Frenchman came naturally for him.

It’s not only Luis Suarez who is trying to help Dembele on his development, but the rest of the squad also does it through several public messages they send his way.

However, the Uruguay international does have a unique position to advise Dembele due to the history he has as a player and the incredible career he’s had over the years.

Suarez has taken the role of a mentor for Dembele in a more personal way than perhaps Messi has done it, but both South American players can’t stop marvelling at the young man’s capabilities and how complicated it becomes to keep up his pace.

Ousmane Dembele is expected to play the upcoming La Liga match at Camp Nou against Valencia, manager Ernesto Valverde decided to rest the young player for the Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Sevilla with the hopes of having him well-rested for this match.

Opinion: Messi gets back to his best with perfect timing

After leading FC Barcelona to a crucial win at Sevilla, Lionel Messi can finally rest easy because he got back to his best form...

This means we are getting the Messi-Suarez-Dembele trio again this weekend.

“Dembele is young and had a lot of people tell him: you’re going to be a superstar and everything will be great,” said Suarez on Diario Sport.

“But the reality is there’s still so much to learn. That happened to me too. I had to live in that moment and what I have to do is support Ousmane.”

“He’s got a lot of players in the dressing room he can learn professionalism from. No one can teach Ousmane how to kick a ball because he already knows that.”

“But another thing is how you work/train. He needs his routines to keep getting better. Obviously he’s a player that is only getting started but I think he’s going to be one of the best in the world.”

“I’ve never played with anyone as fast as him. It isn’t that he hits the ball so far forward but at times we’re on the counter and I can’t get there in time!”

“I’m not able to get there and Leo is even further behind of him. We said: ‘He goes really fast, we’ll never catch him!'”

“When he starts to run, we need to start further ahead of him to be there at the right now. If not, it’s impossible to keep up.”

“Sometimes it looks as if he’s lost the ball but he gets there. Maybe sometimes he doesn’t know where to cross the ball. But he’s a player that is helping is a lot,” he concluded.
