Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Real Madrid and is said to be considering an approach from Inter.
Diario AS cite a report in local TV station Telemadrid and carried by Football Italia claiming the Ballon d’Or winner has turned down Madrid’s initial offer and there are strong indications that the interest from Inter is huge.
Modric has been instrumental in both club and country as he helped Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League title and his nation Croatia to their first ever World Cup final.
Modric is believed to be influenced by the fact that his fellow compatriots Sime Vrsaljko, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic all play at the Nerazzurri.
The midfielder’s current deal at the Bernabeu runs through until 2020 but he is said to be holding out for an improved offer, one which would match or exceed that offered by Inter.
