A sole goal, as it stands, separates the Inter Milan marksman from the Juventus talisman in the fight for the 2020-21 Capocannoniere.
Romelu Lukaku is not concerned about a Golden Boot battle with Cristiano Ronaldo, with the striker prioritizing collective success over individual accolades.
Lukaku was on target as Inter ran out 3-0 winners against Genoa at San Siro on Sunday as he opened the scoring within just 30 seconds of kick-off.
The Belgium international became the player with the most direct goal involvements (24) in Serie A this season as he took his goal tally for the 2020-21 campaign to 18.
The early strike also way him move within touching distance of Serie A top scorer Ronaldo’s goal tally, with the Juventus superstar having netted 19 times in 20 games so far.
Lukaku has now found the net in each of his last three appearances and has not gone more than two games without scoring a goal all season for the Nerazzurri.
“I always think about winning,” the Inter striker told Sky Sport Italia when asked if he is looking to beat Ronaldo to the prestigious individual prize.
“I am in a good moment of my career, but Inter are the only thing that matter.”
Lukaku added: “We are improving, we are on top of the table, it’s a nice feeling, but we must continue.
“We scored three goals and kept a clean sheet, perfect.
“I always want to improve, just like many other players. We are young and we have room for improvement.”
