Jose Mourinho is confident that Romelu Lukaku will be able to make a return to the side ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup final against Chelsea
The Belgium international suffered a foot injury in their 2-1 win against Arsenal last Sunday and has been ruled out of their away game against Brighton in the Premier League on Friday night.
But Mourinho is now hopeful that the injury is not as bad as it had initially appeared and revealed that he expects Lukaku to make a full recovery ahead of their final against their former club Chelsea on May 19.
“I hope so,” said the former Chelsea boss, according to the Daily Mirror.
“It looks positive.
The Portuguese coach dismissed claims that both Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind have been told that they no longer have a future at United.
“I think when a player wants to go – if that’s the case – and when the right offers arrive in the club, we study that because we always try to have the players happy,” said Mourinho.
After joining from Everton last summer, Lukaku has scored an impressive 26 goals in his 47 appearances across all competitions in his debut campaign at United.
