Lyon’s recent performance against Paris Saint-Germain indicate that they are preparing well for the Juventus clash, suggests Rudi Garcia.
Olympique Lyon finished second-best in this season’s Coupe de la Ligue final as they lost out to Paris Saint Germain on penalties.
Lyon also had a forgettable 2019/20 Ligue 1 season, which was ended prematurely, as they could only finish eighth.
However, the French side are still alive in the Champions League and hold a 1-0 advantage over Juventus as they prepare for the second leg of the competition’s Last 16 round.
Manager Rudi Garcia says that the fact that his side were able to hold out PSG is the testament to the fact that his they are doing well and that it should provide confidence against Juventus.
“Only losing to PSG on penalties suggests we put in a good performance,” said Garcia, as Football Italia reports.
“Now we need to do psychological work with the players to make them understand we leave this final with our heads held high, taking the positives and using those to reach the Champions League quarter-final.
“I saw the right attitude against PSG and we were well-organised against a team that was constructed to win the Champions League. That has to give us confidence going into the Juve game.”
