Looking to add more bite to the squad, Lyon are now seeking a move for Joachim Andersen who has been in fine form for Sampdoria.

In dire need of a central defender, Les Gones have made Joachim Andersen their priority target. After a first offer of €18 million was rejected, the Rhone giants have come back with an improve offer of €25 million for the Danish international.

Les Gones are looking to wrap things up quickly this summer. As the club gets ready to say adieu to Tanguy Ndombele (likely Tottenham bound), the French giants would be looking to shore up their defense and midfield.

While Cirian Tatarusanu and Jean Lucas have already signed and Youssouf Kone and Thiago Mendes are on the verge of leaving Lille for Lyon, the club is set to make way for another promising player.

Aged 23, Joachim Andersen had a very good season in the Italian Serie A for Sampdoria. The youngster’s profile has impressed coach Sylvinho. Powerful, great at recovering, excellent aerial ability and leadership qualities, Andersen is exactly the player Les Gones need.

And according to Soccer Link, Sampdoria would be willing to do business with a team that is willing to offer €30 million for their star player.

In charge of player recruitment, Florian Maurice is confident that the club will wrap things up quickly.

“We are in an advanced stage, we hope to conclude quickly,” said the former striker.

However, Les Gones would be looking to wrap up this deal as quickly as possible since the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Joachim Andersen. Both teams have a real need of a solid defender and with the attraction of playing in England in the offing, Andersen might get his head turned.

Both English clubs have not signed a centre back this summer.
