Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas has warned potential suitors that the club is not looking to sell Tanguy Ndombele at any cost.
Tanguy Ndombele has been attracting a lot of interest from across the Channel. The young Frenchman is reportedly a target of Tottenham and Manchester United. The former has already started actively pursuing the midfielder.
However, it appears that Lyon have no intention of cashing in on Ndombele. Instead, Les Gones are looking to create a strong squad for next season. With the arrival of Juninho and Sylvinho, Lyon are keen on matching PSG blow by blow.
In order to do that, the club isn’t looking to let go of any more of its star players including Ndombele.
After already selling Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid, Lyon are not going to easily let go of Ndombele. While speaking to Foot Mercato, Aulas said that the club is not looking to let go of any of its star players.
“Regarding Tnguy, it is common information that he is wanted by the biggest clubs. The arrival of Juni marks a turning point which includes strengthening the team. If we lose players, we’ll have to recruit others to do better than before.
This will not be easy since we have only just qualified for Europe. If Tanguy had to leave, we would have targeted a certain number of players with Juninh. Thiago Mendes is one of them. He did not say, tomorrow I’m leaving. He has been followed by most major clubs. And when you have the biggest clubs knocking on your door, you listen.”
And Aulas has said that only substantial offers are really going to force Lyon into selling Ndombele.
“If he had to leave, which is not the case, it would be necessary to recruit someone. It would take a very substantial proposal for us to even think about selling Tanguy.”
