Jose Juan Macias and Sebastian Cordova are deserving of the attention they are getting from clubs in the big European leagues.
Those are the thought of Mexico boss Gerardo Martino after the two players are apparently of interest to Manchester United and a host of other European clubs.
United are in the market for a new striker, and possibly even an attacking midfield player.
Cordova an attacking midfielder plays with Mexico’s Club America has apparently caught the eye of clubs in Portugal and England.
Macias who has been called the “new” Javier Hernandez, has been linked with several Premier League teams. He plays for Leon out of Mexico too.
However, he came through the ranks at Guadalajara just as Hernadez did.
While there is no official take on the rumours, their national team manager Martino believes there are rumours for a reason.
In an interview with Medio Tiempo, he made no comment on the validity or otherwise about the speculation. But he said such talk was simply down the player’s quality.
“If there is any comment, it’s because they generate it for their performances and are doing things well, it’s likely that there are scouts who take them into account.”
While he admits it is no more than speculation, he wants his players to simply keep up the hard work.
“The important teams in Europe must have in their sights on more than 100 players in the world, which does not mean that they are going to buy them.”
“So they are in the sight of Benfica or Manchester like so many others, it’s the work they must do.”
What would United and Ole Gunnar Solskajer do right now for a Javier Hernandez?
United have made no secret that they are in the hunt for a new striker, is it worth the Red Devils tainga punt on either or both these two?
