FC Zurich Coach Ludovic Magnin admits his side were eliminated by a strong Napoli team and went on to tip Napoli to win the tournament.

The Swiss side were soundly beaten in both legs, having already lost 3-1 at home in the first leg, Ancelotti’s men finished up the job in Naples to seal a 2-0 win at the Stadio San Paolo.

“We played well and showed a different attitude to the first leg,” said the Coach in his Press conference via Football Italia.

“We had our scoring opportunities and I am content with our performance, as the gap between us and Napoli was less obvious tonight.

“Napoli have a lot of experience and I hope they can win the Europa League, that way we can say we were only eliminated by the best side in the tournament!

Magnin noted the quality of the opposition and pinpointed the work done by Polish midfielder over the two legs to help his team qualify.

“Over the two legs, I saw a Napoli team that was solid and had a lot of talented players. Piotr Zielinski really impressed me in Switzerland.

Ospina is doing well after intensive care unit

David Ospina’s father has confirmed the Napoli goalkeeper is doing well after responding well to treatment. Ospina was carried off after colliding with Udinese forward Nacho Pussetto...

“I feel we went out of the Europa League with our heads held high.”

Napoli are 13 points adrift leaders Juve in the Serie A but are well placed to seal a Champions League spot next season.

The Europa League remains their best chance of securing a trophy and with the successful experience of Ancelotti in Europe, you can’t write off the chances of the Naples side.
