The latest incident in the English national team between Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez saw City’s winger pick up a one-match suspension.
Gareth Southgate decided to punish Raheem Sterling for his behavior. Manchester City’s talent earned a suspension for the Montenegro match.
Harry Maguire spoke on the matter, telling the other players’ side of the story.
“As players, it’s not ultimately our decision for the punishment of Raheem,” Maguire said, as quoted by Metro.
“I’m sure a lot of players have been put in a situation where they’d make a decision, but it’s not their choice in the final.”
"I have to do first and foremost what is right for the country, the team and all the while trying to look after the players."
England manager Gareth Southgate says he sticks by his decision to drop Raheem Sterling for one match after his altercation with Joe Gomez.

However, the Three Lions will have to do without Sterling. England is looking to clinch their European Championship spot by beating Montenegro.
