Harry Maguire has admitted that Manchester United need to improve a lot defensively.

Manchester United were left stunned by Aston Villa’s equalizer in their last match. The Red Devils are without a win in the last three of their matches in all competitions. In addition to that, they have allowed seven goals in the process.

All the statistics point out the defensive flaw in Manchester United’s game plan. And Harry Maguire has admitted it. The defender, in a report by Four Four Two, said that he was frustrated to see his team concede so many goals.

“We got ourselves in a great position in the second half and again conceded a sloppy goal really,” Maguire said.

“But it’s disappointing because we got ourselves in a good position after the first half wasn’t good enough.

“As a defender especially, it’s frustrating. We haven’t really conceded many chances or goals prior to the last two games and then we’ve conceded five. The attackers have scored five and we’ve ended up coming away with two points,” Harry Maguire pointed out.

“It’s disappointing, especially as a defender. It’s something that we’ll work on but it’s not like we were conceding lots and lots of chances (against Villa).

“I felt every time we went forward in the second half, we were going to score. We caused them numerous problems,” the Manchester United centerback insisted.
