Maldini wants Donnarumma to stay at Milan “for a long time”

The Rossoneri director presented new coach Marco Giampaolo today, and he also took questions from the reporters.

Coach Marco Giampaolo was presented today with Italian Lega Serie A club AC Milan.

But Rossoneri director Paolo Maldini also took a chance to talk about the team’s future, especially how they want to keep goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“The choice of Zvone and Ricky Massara as directors is because the objective is to be competitive again as soon as possible,” he told Football Italia.

“We picked Giampaolo along with the club and directors.”

“The fans understood this moment in Milan’s history, they already proved that last season,” he added.

“We finished one point off the Champions League places.”

Maldini explained: “The flame is lit and we just need to make it burn brighter.”

The Napoli forward believes Koulibaly is the strongest defender in all of Europe and he talks about James Rodriguez too.

“Our objective is not to win, but to improve last season’s position and get back to the top as soon as possible.”

“The idea we have right now is to keep Donnarumma for a very long time,” he said.

“At this moment, that is our position.”
