The Red Devils youngster James Garner is the latest player to sign a new deal at Old Trafford.
Garner is the latest youngster to be handed a deal by United and vowed that signing this professional contract with United is just the ‘start’ according to the club’s website.
“Obviously, it’s what I’ve been working for since the Under-8s and Under-9s. I’m proud for myself and for my family but I think it’s only the start. My mum, dad, grandad and auntie have all come along and it’s just a proud moment.
“I think it’s even more special to sign at Old Trafford. It would still have been special signing at the Aon Training Complex but this is even more special. Winning the league, having a good season and being nominated for the Young Player of the Year and now this just caps it off as a perfect season for me” he said.
The 17-year-old performance in the middle of the park for the academy was tremendous as he was also a key member of the squad who won the Premier League northern title last month.
Garner was nominated by Boss Kieran McKenna for the Jimmy Murphy young player of the year award after an impressive campaign for the Birkenhead lad, who helped guide England to the semi-finals of the UEFA European under-17 championship.
He had previously revealed he hopes to learn from idol Michael Carrick. Now he can learn all that he wanted to learn this his first professional contract.
