Manchester United are close to finishing the signing of Stoke goalkeeper, Lee Grant, according to Manchester Evening News.
Jose Mourinho is said to be looking for a third choice option in the goalkeeping department especially after young goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone agreed to join West Brom.
The 35-year-old Grant, who also played for Derby County will join the Old Trafford outfit as third-choice goalkeeper with his playing time expected to be a bare minimum when finally signed.
His professionalism is expected to be a boost to the club’s dressing room. With the further option of a coaching role on the cards for the former Sheffield Wednesday man.
The move to sign Grant ensures that Manchester United have an able third goalkeeping option, with many of the club’s young goalkeepers expected to leave on loan to get more playing time.
